Justin@BlindMouse Crashing cymbals that are a precursor to shifts in tectonic plates. Riffs and leads that don’t battle for contention, but together muster the strength to stare down dystopia. And killer vocals that will subdue the numbered beast.

Scott Spiers Godless Suns is very much a throwback to an era I still doubt actually existed, and by that I mean before mastering guru's and executives fucked up the party. This release is very much of this era, not some romanticized 70's nostalgia. They fit in with a bunch of other bands that have made waves over the past few years, especially Scorched Oak and Saint Karloff... No pressure guys, but that's some fairly lofty company. Favorite track: Fury.

FDJ (Desert Psychlist) What i like about this is how the band have allowed the music space to breathe, so many doom/occult type bands insist on compressing everything down to give their grooves an illusion of added heaviness, but this doesn't need that and sounds all the better for it. Favorite track: Death of the Wise.

stephen1239 Fuzzy, thick, tasty grooves that you can get lost in. This one will go into regular rotation for me!

The two points that stood out for me on my first listen were:

- The halfway point of "Fury" where the song opens up into a chill spacey feel and slowly brings you back into the heaviness.

-That absolutely banger into riff on "Godless Suns" had my face all contorted in beautiful disgust. Favorite track: Fury.

about

The album deals with the disolution of a certain theologies and humankinds acknowledgment of self reliance and their own personal magics.

This album is designed to be listened to from begining to end, but we understand that given the way people listen to music these days that isn't conducive to a 40+ minute chill for the most part, so we have released it in individual song format with their respective intros/outros (story parts) therefore making easier to listen to your favourite part or have us pop up in a shuffle without it being the whole 40+ minutes.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by ourselves as a true DIY experience, between the many worldwide lockdowns, we think we got most of it right and are certainly happy with the final product.

We hope you enjoy this musical outing with your favourite libation or three and can get to see us live at some point.

Peace.

The Sleeping Shaman:

Godless Suns came out of the left field and surprised me with a fantastic album. Highly inspiring knowing that everything was 100% DIY which I always have a lot of respect for, especially with knowing how hard that can be. I look forward to hearing more from the band.

Outlaws of the Sun:

UK Doom/Stoner Metallers Godless Suns self-titled debut album is a stirring mix of Progressive Metal, Stoner Metal, Blues Rock and Doom Metal. Full of heavy FUZZED out grooves which remind me of Black Sabbath, Pallbearer, early-era ALUNAH and High Fighter in places especially with the melodic vocals from Sarah Humphries but Godless Suns move into many other areas of Doom/Stoner Metal underground with this release.

Cave Dweller Music:

Godless Suns as an album has the sort of guitarwork that, during the breakdowns like in Death Of The Wise, I just want to jump out of my chair wherever I am and fucking air guitar. The drumming is pretty good, too – sometimes a band will release a song that has drumming that’s just creative and well timed enough for me to sit there and focus purely on the drumwork. I find myself doing that in Death Of The Wise at times, and occasionally elsewhere in the album. That’s a great sign, and with a drink or two that feeling is all the more enhanced.

Clean & Sober Stoner

Godless Suns is very much a throwback to an era I still doubt actually existed, and by that I mean before mastering guru’s and executives fucked up the party. This release is very much of this era, not some romanticized 70’s nostalgia. They fit in with a bunch of other bands that have made waves over the past few years, especially Scorched Oak and Saint Karloff. Even more impressive is that they have the narrative ambitions of Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard, Sergeant Thunderhoof and Vitskar Suden. No pressure guys, but that’s some fairly lofty company.
